Access pending
Overview
Section titled “Overview”“Access pending” means someone requested to join an organization or project and that request is now waiting in an Owner or Admin queue for a decision. It is not an error and it does not mean anything went wrong with your request; it simply has not been reviewed yet.
Requests do not expire automatically and are not auto-approved after a delay. Nothing further needs to happen on the requester side while waiting; the request stays visible to Admins and Owners on Access Requests until they approve or decline it.
The fastest way to move a pending request forward is a direct message to an Owner or Admin, since GrowthOS does not send repeated reminder notifications for a request sitting untouched.
What you can do here
Section titled “What you can do here”- See your own request sitting in a pending state.
- Understand that pending is expected, not a bug.
- Nudge an Owner or Admin directly to review it sooner.
- Get notified once the request is approved.
When to use
Section titled “When to use”- You requested to join an organization and have not gotten access yet.
- You are unsure whether your request actually went through.
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”- You already submitted an access request.
Where to find it
Section titled “Where to find it”- Your own status: wherever you submitted the request (sign-up or invite flow).
- Admin/Owner view:
/org/access-requests.
Step-by-step
Section titled “Step-by-step”- Confirm you actually submitted a request (check for a confirmation after signing up or requesting access).
- Understand that “pending” means it is sitting unreviewed, not stuck or broken.
- Wait for an Owner or Admin to review it on Access Requests.
- If it has been pending a while, message an Owner or Admin directly and ask them to check Access Requests.
- Once approved, you will get access and can sign in normally.
- If declined, you will need a new invitation or request to try again.
What success looks like
Section titled “What success looks like”- You understand that pending is a normal, temporary state, not an error.
- An Owner or Admin reviews your request and you get access.
- You know exactly who to nudge if it is taking longer than expected.
Tips & best practices
Section titled “Tips & best practices”- If you know who the Owner or Admin is, message them directly rather than just waiting silently.
- Double-check you requested access to the right organization before assuming it is stuck.
- Ask the Admin to check the Access Requests page specifically, since that is the only place requests are reviewed.
Common mistakes
Section titled “Common mistakes”- Assuming pending means something is broken and submitting the request again.
- Waiting indefinitely without ever messaging an Owner or Admin.
- Requesting access to the wrong organization and being confused why nobody approves it.
